Husein’s Story:
As a Muslim, Husein came to America from the Middle East to preach to Christians so they would become Muslims. “I believed Islam was the last religion, with the last book, and the last prophet. When I walked by a church, I would spit at it. When I saw a telephone pole, I would look away from it because it looked like a cross.
“I had a friend that asked me what I thought about Jesus and the Bible. I told him that I didn’t believe in the Bible, I’m a Muslim.”
But something happened later that year during the week of Easter as Husein watched the television. He tuned in to a Christian meeting and a man was preaching. He was talking all about Jesus. Husein could not take his eyes off the broadcast. But not in a million years was he expecting what would happen next!
“Suddenly, the Holy Ghost fell on me! I looked up and Jesus was there in front of me. I’d been a devout Muslim but as soon as I saw Him it was like seeing an old friend that I knew before. And I knew it was Jesus. And I knew something else. I knew that He was the Son of God!
“One of the things biggest things I remember is the emptiness I felt before I met Jesus. As a Muslim, I used to call out to Allah and ask him to show me that he cared for me and to show me that he was there. And nothing ever happened.
“Now I realize what people talk about when they say: ; ‘There is a God shaped hole in every man’s heart.’
“When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman in John 4, he said to her; ‘I have water. If you drink of it, you will never thirst again.’ And when Jesus came, He gave me that water. And man, it changed me. It was so powerful.”
After Husein gave his life to Christ he told his father about his faith in Christ. “My father threw his shoe at me and eventually kicked me out of the house.”
Husein felt called to go to his people and moved to Israel to reach Palestinians. While living in the West Bank as a former Muslim now follower of Christ, he endured intense persecution. He was shot at, almost kidnapped and threatened with death a number of times. But he stood strong.
“I Found the Truth. Actually, the Truth found me! Jesus said: ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the father but through me.’
“The truth is a person. When you know Jesus, you know the truth!”
Husein is broadcasting today on television and online into the Middle East sharing Bible studies and relevant topics to Muslims. He answers questions, prays with people, and leads Muslims to faith in Christ.
