For centuries we’ve been told that Mount Sinai – the fiery mountain where heaven and earth clashed – the physical location that Moses received the Ten Commandments – is located in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. But has this been the wrong location all along?

There is groundbreaking new evidence that could rewrite history.

The real Mount Sinai could have been hiding in Saudi Arabia the whole time!

Was the Israelites’ Exodus Route Misinterpreted for Centuries?

Joel Richardson, biblical researcher and teacher, presents a compelling case that Jebel al-Lawz, a mountain in northwest Saudi Arabia, matches the biblical description of Mount Sinai better than the traditional site. Could it be that the Israelites’ Exodus route has been misinterpreted for centuries?

Archaeologists, explorers and biblical scholars also agree that evidence locating Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia aligns closely with the biblical account.

The charred mountaintop – scorched by God’s presence. The split rock of Horeb – large enough to give water for millions. Ancient petroglyphs of a golden calf near the base of the mountain – described in Exodus. Remnants of an ancient 12-pillar structure, where animal sacrifices took place, indicate a possible link to the wilderness journey by the Israelites and Moses. All the evidence points to Jebel al-Laws or as the local Bedouin’s call it – Jebel Musa, “Mountain of Moses.”

Mount Sinai on the Sinai Peninsula Doesn’t Match the Evidence

Travelers and scholars have made the long trek to St. Catherine’s Monastery in Egypt’s southern Sinai Peninsula, believing it to be the site where God came down and gave the Ten Commandments to Moses. But Richardson and other researchers argue that this location doesn’t match the biblical account.

This was a traditional site given by Helena, the mother of the Roman Emperor Constantine, in the 3rd century along with others in the Holy Land. For many, the real location remained a mystery.

What This Means for Biblical History?

If Mount Sinai is actually in Saudi Arabia, this would be one of the most significant discoveries of biblical archaeology and tradition. It would change everything we know about the Exodus route and what we’ve been told about the location where God came down and resided on the mountaintop. Will it be accepted? Even if God himself came down again on the mountain, there would still be skeptics.
