Today, 89.3 Million people have been “forcibly displaced” from their homes due to persecution, war, regional and religious conflicts, violence, or human rights violations.

In the Middle East, the refugee population ballooned with the 10-year war in Syria and even today half of the population of the country no longer lives in their homes. The hardest hit globally are the children like the sweet ones pictured in this refugee camp in Jordan.

But Jesus loves the little children and warned about strict judgments to come for evil people who take advantage of them. “If anyone causes one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:6

Sex trafficking of children is as evil as it gets, and it is rampant where Uncharted ministers in the Middle East and Central Asia.

In the last year we were privileged to help young Afghan children escape from the Taliban and be successfully extracted to Christian orphanages in other countries with caring believers who will teach them to love God’s Word and keep them safe from predators.

In Jordan, Uncharted is training young women MBBt’s in job skills and discipleship so they will not be married off to Muslim men by their families. What’s an MBBt? A “Muslim Background Believer Teen.” Many of them are from Syria.

In Syria, Uncharted has a large ministry with over 2,000 children many of the refugees are orphans who sadly live on the streets. The national leaders feed them, lead them to Christ and disciple them to be the next generation leaders of Jesus’ Church in Syria.

In Pakistan, Christian slaves in brick factories are being set free with their debts paid in full and a new business started to provide for their families. They are not technically refugees, but they are similar in this fanatical Muslim country that gives Christians few rights, just like refugees.

And in the Gaza Strip, young former Muslims who now love Jesus are risking it all to reach Muslim refugee children and train them in the Way of the Lord despite the oppressive threats of Hamas terrorists. One young woman was rescued from her Hamas terrorist father who was abusing her horribly. She was taken to a safehouse for a month, and we were thrilled to help her get out of Gaza and she is safely in the West with her loving mother.

The growing “forcibly displaced” population in the world is larger than ever in history. Children, teens, and even young adults suffer the most but believers on the frontlines of our faith are risking their lives to rescue them.

And there is a better life that Jesus has planned for them, and many are finding it in Him! Pray for them and for Uncharted as the ministry to “the least of these” grows exponentially in the Middle East and Central Asia.
